The Philippines is set to elevate its tourism landscape as Robinsons Hotels and Resorts (RHR), a division of Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC), takes a bold step with an investment of over PHP10 billion, or approximately $177 million, to expand its portfolio of luxury hotels across the archipelago. This significant financial commitment underscores RHR’s dedication to enhancing the country’s reputation as a premier travel destination.
Robinsons’ ambitious expansion is highlighted by the upcoming NUSTAR Hotel, a part of the NUSTAR Resort set to open later this year. This project marks the completion of the property’s first phase and promises a unique blend of personalized, high-end experiences for both local and international guests. The NUSTAR Resort & Casino, situated in Cebu, Philippines, stands as a testament to Robinsons’ vision for an unmatched luxury experience in the region.
Furthermore, Robinsons is poised to unveil a new luxury venture in Metro Manila with the development of another Fili Hotel. This establishment will complement the existing Fili Hotel at NUSTAR, embodying the essence of Filipino hospitality while setting a new standard in international luxury accommodations. According to Barun Jolly, Senior Vice President and Business Unit General Manager, this project reflects their commitment to merging exceptional service with cultural richness.
Looking to the future, the NUSTAR complex is set to introduce the Grand Summit hotel brand, dramatically increasing the total room capacity to approximately 1,000 rooms. The Grand Summit brand is envisioned as a lifestyle offering that combines art, design, and local culture to provide a distinct and relaxed luxury experience. Robinsons already operates a Grand Summit hotel in General Santos and has plans to introduce another in Pangasinan, further broadening their luxurious footprint.
This expansive investment reaffirms Robinsons’ commitment to advancing the Philippines’ hospitality sector and providing enhanced experiences to travelers from around the globe. The new projects are not only set to attract more visitors but also to reinforce the country’s position on the global tourism map, promising a future of growth and innovation in the luxury hotel industry.
