In a compelling revelation at a media conference held in Shah Alam, Khaulah Ashaari, daughter of the famed and controversial Al-Arqam founder, Ashaari Muhammad, made a definitive statement regarding the operations of Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH). Khaulah firmly refuted ongoing misconceptions linking GISBH to the deviant teachings of her late father’s Al-Arqam cult.
Khaulah Ashaari maintained that GISBH functions solely as a business entity, wholly dissociated from religious indoctrination associated with the “Aurad Muhammadiyah” ideology. This ideology was a cornerstone of Ashaari Muhammad’s doctrines, historically deemed deviant by religious authorities in Malaysia.
“At GISBH, we are consistent not to practise any teachings that have been declared as religiously deviant or wrong,” Khaulah emphasized, underscoring the organization’s commitment to compliance. She added that stringent courses set up by the religious department, including monitoring, are part of their routine to ensure adherence to the law.
She further emphasized that religious authorities closely supervise GISBH’s educational enterprises, with schools in Selangor aligning their curriculum with standards set by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais). “The schools follow Jais’ syllabus and they monitor the syllabus,” she confidently stated, underscoring their credibility and alignment with state educational protocols.
Interestingly, Khaulah acknowledged the potential existence of minor factions that might still hold on to the obsolete teachings. However, she positioned these as isolated and unrepresentative of GISBH’s collective ethos. In an attempt to address any lingering connections, Khaulah referred to the “Power Kaabah” song often linked to GISBH as an outdated cultural artifact, diminishing its relevance in today’s context.
The statement by Khaulah Ashaari serves to clarify the position of GISBH in the public eye, endeavoring to dissociate the organization from the shadow of her father’s controversial legacy. This clear distinction is crucial not only for the organization’s integrity but also for its stakeholders who have consistently worked towards portraying GISBH as a legitimate business entity.
