In a case that has stirred public interest, Bukit Aman is diligently investigating serious allegations concerning 13 children who were reportedly sodomised. These children were rescued from care centres associated with Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) during a large-scale operation. This investigation comes in the wake of a revealing video posted by GISB’s executive chairman, Datuk Nasiruddin Mohd Ali, who acknowledged instances of sodomy, albeit claiming they were isolated.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has reiterated the commitment to carry out a thorough investigation. He emphasized the importance of justice, asserting the readiness of the police to uncover the full scope of the allegations involving these young victims. “As I said before, our investigations are still at an early stage. We will conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice is done,” he affirmed. The possibility remains that Nasiruddin may be called upon to provide a statement to assist the investigation.
The backdrop to this investigation is a significant police operation, codenamed Ops Global, which successfully rescued 402 children—201 boys and 201 girls—from 20 care homes spread across Selangor and Negri Sembilan. The operation also led to the arrest of 171 individuals, aged between 17 and 64, including a teacher and dorm caretakers.
Initially, police investigations suggested that only four children had been sodomised. However, subsequent screenings at the Police Training Centre revealed nine additional cases, bringing the total to 13. This discovery has further propelled the ongoing investigation into these distressing allegations.
The Inspector-General also mentioned that the police are extending their inquiry into potential financial misconduct related to funds supporting these care homes. Given the sensitive nature and the allegations’ gravity, the police are vigilant in ensuring that all aspects of the case are thoroughly explored.
As authorities continue their investigations, the safety and welfare of the rescued children remain a priority. Notably, Minister Nancy Shukri has reassured the public that these children are now in a safe environment. This ongoing investigation highlights the pressing need to safeguard vulnerable children and uphold justice in the face of such severe allegations.
